Thomas Hellstrom 86df05eb26 loader/dri3: Use client local back to front blit in copySubBuffer if available
The copySubBuffer functionality always attempted a server side blit from
back to fake front if a fake front was present, and we weren't displaying
on a remote GPU.

Now that we always have local blit capability on modern drivers, first
attempt a local blit, and only if that fails, try the server blit.

Thomas Hellstrom 0cc4c7e33e loader_dri3: Make sure we have an updated back v3
With GLX_SWAP_COPY_OML and GLX_SWAP_EXCHANGE_OML it may happen in situations
when glXSwapBuffers() is immediately followed by for example another
glXSwapBuffers() or glXCopyBuffers() or back buffer age querying, that we
haven't yet allocated and initialized a new back buffer because there was
no GL rendering in between.

Make sure that we have a back buffer in those situations.

v2: Eliminate the drawable have_back_format member.
v3: Make sure we re-initialize the back even if it exists.

Thomas Hellstrom c898e02a33 loader_dri3: Eliminate the back-to-fake-front copy
Eliminate the back-to-fake-front copy by exchanging the previous back buffer
and the fake front buffer. This is a gain except when we need to preserve
the back buffer content but in that case we still typically gain by replacing
a server-side blit by a client side non-flushing blit.

Thomas Hellstrom 1e83baeb4b loader_dri3: Honor the request to preserve back buffer content
EGL uses the force_copy parameter to loader_dri3_swap_buffers_msc() to indicate
that it wants to preserve back buffer contents across a buffer swap.

While the loader then turns off server-side page-flipping there's nothing to
guarantee that a new backbuffer isn't chosen when EGL starts to render again,
and that buffer's content is of course undefined.

So rework the functionality:
If the client supports local blits, allow server-side page flipping and when
a new back is grabbed, if needed, blit the old back's content to the new back.
If the client doesn't support local blits, disallow server-side page-flipping
to avoid a client deadlock and then, when grabbing a new back buffer, sleep
until the old back is idle, which may take a substantial time depending on
swap interval.

Thomas Hellstrom 2db9548296 loader_dri3/glx/egl: Optionally use a blit context for blitting operations
The code was relying on us always having a current context for client local
image blit operations. Otherwise the blit would be skipped. However,
glxSwapBuffers, for example, doesn't require a current context and that was a
common problem in the dri1 era. It seems the problem has resurfaced with dri3.

If we don't have a current context when we want to blit, try creating a private
dri context and maintain a context cache of a single context.

Emil Velikov 10e7c2c64d loader: rework xmlconfig dependency
Currently xmlconfig is conditionally used, only when --enable-dri is
available.

As the library has moved to src/util and has wider wisebase, this guard
is no longer correct. Strictly speaking - it wasn't since the
introduction of xmlconfig into st/nine a while ago.

Unconditionally enable xmlconfig and drop the linking. As said before
there's other users of the library, so depending on the configure
options we will get multiple definitions of said symbols.

NOTE: To avoid breaking other combinations, this commit adds the
xmlconfig link to the required places - throughout gallium and the DRI
loaders.

Michel Dänzer 1e3218bc5b loader/dri3: Overhaul dri3_update_num_back
Always use 3 buffers when flipping. With only 2 buffers, we have to wait
for a flip to complete (which takes non-0 time even with asynchronous
flips) before we can start working on the next frame. We were previously
only using 2 buffers for flipping if the X server supports asynchronous
flips, even when we're not using asynchronous flips. This could result
in bad performance (the referenced bug report is an extreme case, where
the inter-frame stalls were preventing the GPU from reaching its maximum
clocks).

I couldn't measure any performance boost using 4 buffers with flipping.
Performance actually seemed to go down slightly, but that might have
been just noise.

Without flipping, a single back buffer is enough for swap interval 0,
but we need to use 2 back buffers when the swap interval is non-0,
otherwise we have to wait for the swap interval to pass before we can
start working on the next frame. This condition was previously reversed.

Axel Davy 3ecd9e1a93 loader: Use drirc device_id parameter in complement to DRI_PRIME
DRI_PRIME is not very handy, because you have to launch the executable
with it set, which is not always easy to do.
By using drirc, the user specifies the target executable
and the device to use. After that the program will be launched everytime
on the target device.

For example if .drirc contains:

<driconf>
    <device driver="loader">
        <application name="Glmark2" executable="glmark2">
            <option name="device_id" value="pci-0000_01_00_0" />

v2: Fix the leak of device_name
v3: Rebased

It enables to use the DRI_PRIME env var to specify
which gpu to use.
Two syntax are supported:
If DRI_PRIME is 1 it means: take any other gpu than the default one.
If DRI_PRIME is the ID_PATH_TAG of a device: choose this device if
possible.

The ID_PATH_TAG is a tag filled by udev.
You can check it with 'udevadm info' on the device node.
For example it can be "pci-0000_01_00_0".

Render-nodes need to be enabled to choose another gpu,
and they need to have the ID_PATH_TAG advertised.
It is possible for not very recent udev that the tag
is not advertised for render-nodes, then
ones need to add a file containing:

SUBSYSTEM=="drm", IMPORT{builtin}="path_id"

in /etc/udev/rules.d/

Emil Velikov 61c825e862 loader: include dlfcn.h when building with HAVE_LIBUDEV
The code depending on the definitions is already wrapped
in the same conditional so go ahead and wrap the include.

Otherwise we'll brake compilation on platforms that are
missing the header. Add assert.h in there as well, as it
is introduced and used in the same fashon.

Eric Anholt 4556c73470 loader: Use dlsym to get our udev symbols instead of explicit linking.
Steam links against libudev.so.0, while we're linking against
libudev.so.1. The result is that the symbol names (which are the same in
the two libraries) end up conflicting, and some of the usage of .so.1
calls the .so.0 bits, which have different internal structures, and
segfaults happen.

By using a dlopen() with RTLD_LOCAL, we can explicitly look for the
symbols we want, while they get the symbols they want.

José Fonseca d43260b59e logger: s/\<log\>/log_/
Currently the MSVC build is broken because of conflicting definitions of
'log' function. I didn't investigate thoroughly, but I suspect the
it is conflicting standard math.h's log.

log_ is admittedly not a great name, but it is better than a broken build.
A better one can be used in a follow-on build.

loader: introduce the loader util lib

By isolating libdrm code by #ifndef __NOT_HAVE_DRM_H we
can have libdrm-less builds on across all build systems.

This patch converts Android's _EGL_NO_DRM to __NOT_HAVE_DRM_H
to provide consistency with the other cases within mesa, allows
compilation of libloader on libdrm-less scons and conditionally
links against libdrm if present under automake.
